A Little More Political Rabble.

Mood: Quixotic

You know, I am all about the ideology of anarchy and extreme thought. . . Hell - I would even wager I am all about Right-Wing ideology, too. Why, you may ask? Because they are ideologies. Thought processes. Ideas floating around in peoples' brains. They are safe there. People can't get hurt.

When I hear people actually give their heart and support to a cause that would hurt humanity, I have to question their sanity. Being a left-wing idealist makes sense. Having issues with our governors makes sense. Being utterly pissed off and made to look like a fool, as an American, every time that idiot of a President opens his trap makes sense. But - advocating Revolution?

Here's the scoop - I would advocate for a socio-political Revolution. Shake up the minds and souls of those who are in power. Elect a nation of Bernie Sanders. That might get us somewhere. Kill them all and let the world sort it out? How backwards is that?

We have been around for what, 25,000? 30,000 years or something? I think we did pretty well the first 80% of that time when it came to sheer survival. What have the last 5000 - 6000 years brought? An ability to think, process, learn, grow, civilize, love, share, dream, wish, rationalize, hope, feel . . . These are the characteristics that differentiate us from the rest of the world.

We should utalize those gifts. Actually learn how to do those things FOR our fellow man. Not in spite of. We are a world OF people - a collection of individuals just trying to get along. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who do not want to get along with the masses. They are the elite - they have themselves . . . Hell they think we actually owe them something just for being who they are. The Bushes, Cheneys, DeLays, Lays, Frists, Kerrys, Rockefellers, Trumps, Gates, Kennedys, - most (but not all, mind you) of the Senate for that matter. . .

Forget that. We have OURSELVES to thank. I am completely happy with who I am. Content - no, happy - yes. Will I continue to grow and evolve? I sure as hell hope so. As I grow, will I argue for a Revolution that advocates killing off those people I mentioned above? Not at all. If it were possible to strip them of their power and resources - thus sharing it with those of us who DON'T have it - would I do that? In a heartbeat. Would I rather they do it themselves? Of course.

Listen folks, we all live on this planet. We all should be trying a little bit harder to make it a better place for everyone. Each of us working toward our own self-interests resulting in the betterment of society as a whole is a sham. Each of us working to better the people around us will result in the betterment of society as a whole.

Do your part, yeah?

It is a sad, sad day for the Idols of America.

I dedicate a series of Haiku to the fallen one. . .

Unbelievable.
Are you flipping kidding me?
Goodbye Constantine.

Long hair, pouty eyes.
A rocker who can sing well.
Sad day upon us.

You will be missed, kid.
You should not yet be gone, son.
You rock, you roll, man.

New York has fallen.
Oklahoma still remains.
Good luck, sweet Carrie.

Concluding Tanka:

America speaks;
As usual, mistaken.
The truth will prevail:
A champion will be crowned.
Please don't let us down, again.

Chicken in a Bisket, Hidden River Pale Ale and the Cosby Show.

OK - I know what I have read in the papers about the Cos and I really hope it is not true. Bill Cosby should be remembered as America's Dad and should not be known as "My Baby's Daddy."

This is what allegedly happened:

In her lawsuit, Andrea Constand says she met Cosby through her former job in the athletic department at Temple University, the comedian's alma mater, and that she viewed him as a mentor. In January 2004, she says she joined Cosby and other friends for dinner at a Philly restaurant. After the meal, Cosby invited her back to his home in the suburbs to offer her advice about her future. While there, she says Cosby offered her pills he described as "herbal medicine." After injesting the drugs, the suit says, her "knees began to shake, her limbs felt immobile, she felt dizzy and weak."

Then, while she was "barely conscious," Cosby took her to a sofa, where, according to the suit, he "touched her breasts and vaginal area, rubbed his penis against her hand and digitally penetrated her."

Come on Cos. Who's ya daddy?

Anyway - I am eating Chicken in a Bisket, drinking a beer, and just got done watching the Cosby Show.

I hope she is a liar.

Nakedness, or what life is all about.

Current mood: peaceful

So, y'all . . . I was wondering, how do you feel about being naked?

I am a fan. If I had my way - I would be naked all the time. Clothing would only exist to keep us warm. Naked at work, naked at school, naked at the grocery store, naked walking through the park, naked at home, naked while browsing through the mall looking at all the shops intent at buying jewelry to decorate your wonderfully formed body newly liberated from the confines of the modern clothing driven market economies.

Wouldn't that make us all happier? I think it would.

Like I said, I am a fan.

We came into this world as free as any creature. I could get political here, but that would turn Jenna off, so I will keep it mundane. As I was saying - freedom to be yourself AS yourself is a freedom for which we all strive. Why then, do we allow ourselves to be constrained by the debilitating morés of society? Hmmmm . . . That is a great question. But, we all do it. I do it. As a matter of fact, I would probably be naked right now if I were not babysitting a non-familial 5 month old. If it were me and Gavin - sure, why not? I am home - that is safe. But, I have another kid here - not mine. Can't be naked. Our society has stigmatized our bodies. It is socially not acceptable, therefore I cannot - and, mind you - would not cross that line.

Well - speaking of kids, I must retreat downstairs and fix lunch for the bebes and my lovely wife.

South Park Me.

Look everyone - It's me if I were to live in South Park.

If you look on Sarah's Pics, then you would see our other South Park friends.

Jenna is my best friend's biyatch.

Current mood: enthralled

So, I have this friend, Mike, whom I have known for nearly 10 years now. He is engaged to be married in May. His fiancée's name is Jenna. She is nice, pretty, and loves him. Those are all good qualities.

But, she is picky. She insists her friends do not blog enough, then when they do, the blogs are not what she wants to read. Funny how that works, eh? So, I figure I would write one not only for her, but ABOUT her. Maybe she will appreciate that. Who would not appreciate being written about?

Well - here it is:

Utah Politics: "A Brief History of Axes of Power."

The contemporary Political state of Utah is nothing less than astonishing. If one were to read through a history of politics in the State, a sense of awe would be appropriate. Just so happens, I have one for you here: Utah Election History Through 1992. Obviously I am biased as I tend to lean Left, but to see the shift in power from Left to Right over time in this State and the lack of Democratic response infuriates me.

In the 1950s, this state took a turn towards conservatism. Unfortunate, really. Demos still had occasion to hold the Governorship, but the Legislative Minority has been pretty much guaranteed indefinitely, and judging by the Gubernatorial turnout of the last two decades, it appears neo-cons probably will hold that position for a while, as well.

You see - Demos in the Governorship have been as follows: (Mind you, we were granted Statehood in 1896)

Simon Bamberger 1917-1921 - 4 years
George Henry Dern 1925-1933 - 8 years
Henry Hooper Blood 1933-1941 - 8 years
Herbert Brown Maw 1941-1949 - 8 years
Calvin Lewellyn Rampton 1965-1977 - 12 years
Scott Milne Matheson 1977-1985 - 8 years

That is 48 years in a 109 year history. If you disregard the time since 1985, however, when Bangerter began the latest trend of Republican dominance, Demos had actually held the top positon 54% of the time.

So, I will conclude by saying it appears as though it is time for another shift. If Salt Lake County can show anything, it can show even Mormons can vote for Democrats. If the State Democratic party can get their asses in gear, there is a way to win back this state. I gotta tell you, however - I don't have much faith in the Party. Stay tuned and I will tell you more.

Judge Strikes Down FDA Ban on Ephedra

Current mood: okay

This is from the Pretty Great State of Utah. Congrats to my Home.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SALT LAKE CITY - A federal judge Thursday struck down the FDA ban on ephedra, the once-popular weight-loss aid that was yanked from the market after it was linked to dozens of deaths.

The judge ruled in favor of a Utah company that challenged the Food and Drug Administration's ban. Utah-based Nutraceutical claimed in its lawsuit that ephedra "has been safely consumed" for hundreds of years.

Supplements that included ephedra have been widely used for weight loss and bodybuilding, but have linked to 155 deaths, including that of Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Steve Bechler. The FDA ordered the substance off the market in April 2004.

Judge Tena Campbell's ruling sends the matter back to the FDA "for further rulemaking consistent with the court's opinion" and keeps the agency from enforcement action against the companies.

FDA officials did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Company president Bruce Hough said the decision is about "protecting the public's access to safe and effective dietary supplements."

My Testimony of Christ, the Saviour.

Current mood: irreverent

Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Saviour, my Redeemer, my closest friend. He has redeemed my soul from hell. He is with me through his abiding presence by the Holy Spirit of promise. I love him with all my heart. He gave me a new heart, took from me the disposition for sin, and inspires me to a godly walk. I don't want to do anything to offend him or to disappoint him. He is the Saviour of all mankind, and will have mercy on as many as repent and come unto him, but will not force a soul against his or her will. For such he must exact the full demands of justice for their foolish deeds.

My soul rejoices in the Lord, my heart sings praises to his holy name. He is the great Creator, who formed the beautiful flower, the cycles of life. He is the gentle healer, the master of my course in life. He is kind and meek. He is humble and powerful. He is brilliant and intelligent. He is funny. He is very serious. He loves us with an endless love and beckons all to come to him, turning none a way who will come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits. To such he personally administers (from beyond the veil) the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, giving them a new heart. They are born again.

I have been born of God, and I have no other desire but to serve him all the days of my life and to bring glory to his name. I worship him with all my might. He is the source of truth and light.

Though I may struggle through grief and pain, he succors me and guides me, and rebukes me and loves me, and directs my path. His yoke is easy, and his burden is light. He is with me right now as I write this. The tears which flow freely from my eyes and the peace that is in my heart tells me that.

I love you, Lord Jesus. Be with me always. I am yours forever.

All praise and honour and glory be thine forever and ever.

I say these things in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
